We are located on the beautiful hillside above Treforest near Pontypridd; about 20 minutes north of Cardiff, and 20 minutes south of the Heads of the Valleys.

Please wear sensible footwear/clothing for walking over rough ground and remember to follow the Countryside Code.

We are a small group and are sometimes called away in an emergency. Where possible please telephone (01443) 480327 to ensure you don't have a wasted journey.

How to find us

From the M4, J32 take the A470 North towards Merthyr Tydfil. Leave the A470 at the A4058 junction, at the top of the slip road filter left onto "The Broadway" towards Rhondda Valley & Pontypridd Town Railway Station, straight through first set of traffic lights. At the Railway station traffic lights turn left under bridge onto "High Street" leading onto "Llantrisant Road" signposted towards "Graig & Penycoedcae". Continue up the Graig hill, straight through traffic lights, when you have passed all the Shops, Pubs, Houses etc and a view across the Valley if opening up on the right, take the next left into "Maindy Road" (Maendy) follow road until you come to a cattle grid, go left just before the grid. Through gateway signposted Fforest Lodge & Fforest Uchaf Farm and follow the part unmade track down ½ mile past Fforest Lodge (Bungalow). We are at the very bottom of the track. Using public Transport

You can travel by bus or train (valley line) to Pontypridd. For details contact Travel line on 0871 200 22 33 . Train services run from Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central stations. Journey time is about 20 minutes from either station.

Various Buses run from Cardiff Bus station, Wood Street, Cardiff to Pontypridd Bus Station. The No 24 bus runs from Pontypridd to Penycoedcae. Ask the driver to put you off at Highlands Estate (Burns Avenue), from the bus stop go into Burns Avenue and follow it to the end in the turning circle you will see a gap in the wall. Step through the gap onto Maindy (Maendy) Road. Go right and follow down 1/2 a mile to the cattle grid. Look left just before the grid and you will see an unmade road going East. Follow this down through the gate signposted Fforest Lodge & Fforest Uchaf Farm, past Fforest Lodge to the very end and you will find Fforest Uchaf Farm.
